Everybody has different ways of doing things. With this in mind, I thought I would share with you, some of the face painting techniques and methods that I use. Rather than try to explain my methods in writing, I’ve made some easy face painting video tutorials.

Some of my face painting tutorials, at first glance, may look quite complicated, but I’m guessing your not here for those. I will start you off with a tutorial that I consider to be very easy face painting.

As I mentioned at the beginning of this page, everybody has different ways of doing things, so don’t feel you need to copy my techniques exactly. Just because your results may be a little different, doesn’t mean that what you’ve done is wrong. Finding your own methods, your own techniques is a good thing. That’s what makes you unique.

Here is something a tiny bit more complicated, but would still be considered as easy face painting.  Here is a Butterfly face paint. One of many very popular face paints for the girls.

For practice, I use to face paint my kids. They soon got fed up of that. With a desire stronger than ever to continue practicing, before moving on to my own face, I started face painting my arm and spare hand… well, I suppose I should call it Body painting.

Easy Face Painting… Don’t Limit Yourself to Face Paint!

Here is a tutorial that I called ‘Talk to the Hand’. OK, so it’s not exactly face paint, but it does show that for smaller designs you can use other mediums as well.

Another method I used to practice was to face paint a dolls head. Not the little Barbie doll type, I imagine that would be near impossible. No, I used one of those doll heads that girls use to practice hair dressing. I didn’t make any face painting tutorials of me painting that though, I made good use of my own head instead.
